BITUMINOUS BASE/BINDER/ABRASION ASPHALT

Broken and sifted, max. They are asphalt mixtures with a size from 12 mm to 37.5 mm, which are prepared by mixing coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and filler between certain gradation limits with bitumen binder at a certain temperature in a plant and laid in one or more layers on adequate foundations.

USAGE AREAS

It is used in different thicknesses in accordance with the project on the foundation layer of roads and airports.

APPLICATION

Before laying, all infrastructure works must be completed and the road surface must be ready for laying. Laying is done with a paver. Manual paving for repair purposes can also be done on Suspended Asphalts where aggregates with a maximum size of 12 mm. are used. The compaction process begins immediately after the mixture is laid.

The mixture temperature should not be below 130 °C when the rolling is started, and the compression process must be completed before the mixture temperature drops below 80 °C. Appropriate rollers should be used in the compression process. The layer laid after the last cylindrical operation should be opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic after it has cooled down to the ambient temperature.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

The coatings, the infrastructure of which is prepared in accordance with the specifications, the production and application of which are made without any problems, serve for many years, there is no need for an extra maintenance-repair.
